Millésime 2006
The World of Fine Wine, "Déjà Bu" Tasting, 2009 - Characterful, lightly peppery nose. Glossy and round on entry, with richly layered, smooth, but still supportive tannins. Real elegance, succulence, and sweetness. Polished and pleasing. 16.5 (all testers: 16.80)
Tasted in 2009 - Fullish colour. High-toned but fresh and classy on the nose. Mocha and oak as it developed. Medium-full body. Open. Accessible. Plump and attractive. Fresh and balanced and long at the end. Fine plus. From 2014. 18.0
January 2008 - (from a .37 ha parcel where 2006 is the first vintage). A wonderfully elegant nose, indeed this could compete on this parameter with any of the preceding wines as the exuberant red pinot fruit aromas are layered and airy though the strong Nuits sense of “dirt” appears on the round, fresh, intense and very minerally flavors that possess terrific punch and persistent with no underlying rusticity. Lovely and recommended. 2013+ 90-92
10 Sep. 2009 - Interesting and peppery on the nose. Round and racy and gouleyant. Great succulence and balance. Drink 2011-19. 18
Mar/Apr 08 - (just racked; from 45-year-old vines) Medium red. Redcurrant and a suggestion of iron on the nose. Supple, sweet flavors of redcurrant and tobacco. Nothing hard about this Nuits. Finishes with very good aromatic persistence. The Lamarche family rents these old vines, which Marie-Blanche describes as "in a very steep vineyard in bad shape." 87-90
Millésime 2007
January 2009 - (from a .37 ha parcel). This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction with mild wood spice and red berry fruit discernable beneath the reductive funk though there is good freshness and energy in the mouth as the minerally, intense and pure medium-bodied flavors offer excellent definition and length. 2014+ 89-92
