Millésime 2006
Tasted in 2009 - Medium-full colour. Stylish, ripe, gently oaky nose; with a touch of mocha as it developed. Good vigour. Not the greatest depth but elegant and balanced. Quite forward. From 2013. 16.0
January 2008 - Classic ruby. The most expressive of these four Vosne 1ers at present with a spicy mix of mostly red berry fruit with a lovely floral note of rose petal that continues onto the equally spicy, pure and impeccably well balanced flavors that also evidence excellent precision on the intense, long and serious finish. 2013+ 89-92
10 Sep. 2009 - Mid ruby with a little evolution. Sweet and rich and with some energy. Hint of coffee/sweet oak but overall a very juicy, confident package. Just a bit dry on the end. And overall a little tired. I marked it down when I went back to it. Drink 2012-19. 16.5
Mar/Apr 08 - (Lamarche's 35-year-old vines are at the south end of this premier cru, which is essentially an enclave located mostly within Romanee-Saint-Vivant) Palish red. Reduced aromas of strawberry and smoke. A step up in intensity from the Chaumes, with a creamy texture and more depth. Still a bit youthfully tight, but the tannins are broader and sweeter and there's more supporting fat here. 88-91
"Déjà Bu" Tasting, 2009 15.35 (all testers, avg.)
Millésime 2007
January 2009 - There is also noticeable wood but here it is somewhat more subtle and does not impede the clear expression of the pure, airy and sophisticated spicy red and blue pinot fruit that precedes the very forward and supple middle weight flavors that are refined and detailed and culminate in a complex, balanced and harmonious finish. This is not especially concentrated but it certainly is pretty. To drink on the young side for a Vosne 1er. 2013+ 89-91
